Well it’s official now we will be seeing Kaite on are tv’s each week.
Director David Nutter’s winning record continues and DC Comics will soon have a show on network TV again.
News has just come out that The CW has put in a series order for Arrow, the new Green Arrow TV series starring Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, and Colin Donnell. Initial reactions to the pilot have been quite positive so we’re not entirely surprised that Arrow has gotten the nod.
The CW has not yet announced when it will fall on the schedule; expect that announcement to be made on Thursday, May 17, although more information may leak out sooner.
PLease note the CW has yet to make this official
ARROW, starring Stephen Amell (Hung) as Oliver Queen and his superhero alter ego Green Arrow, will air as part of the network’s upcoming Fall lineup
“After being marooned for five years on a remote island, former billionaire playboy Oliver Queen returns with a mysterious agenda and a lethal set of new skills that he uses in a war on crime.”
Canadian actor Stephen Amell (Hung, The Vampire Diaries, 90210) will portray the title role, as well as his alter ego — reformed bad boy and billionaire Oliver Queen. Katie Cassidy (Supernatural, Gossip Girl) stars as the show’s female lead Dinah Laurel Lance — also known to comics fans as the second Black Canary — a lawyer with the City Necessary Resources Initiative. Willow Holland (The O.C.) will play Thea Queen, Oliver’s celebutante younger sister who has a rebellious streak. Colin Donnell (Pan Am) will play Tommy Merlyn, Oliver’s best friend, a trust fund playboy who hopes to resume the good times now that Oliver has returned.
We’ve now received notice through multiple sources that The CW, who optioned the pilot last year in hopes of filling the superhero gap left by Smallville’s finale, has picked up the show to run during it’s Fall 2012 season. One source stated that rough cuts of the pilot episode were well received by network execs, who believe it will garner a very positive audience response. There’s no word yet how many episodes have been ordered, or when the show will begin to air. When asked to officially confirm this information, a representative for The CW stated that they have not solidified decisions regarding our fall line up at this time; but earlier reported have cited they are scheduled to reveal their selections later this month.
ARROW is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter, who is directing, from a teleplay by Kreisberg & Guggenheim, story by Berlanti & Guggenheim. Melissa Kellner Berman is co-executive producer.
Things are looking very good for Katie’s new show at this time
Back by popular demand: Deadline’s Pilot Buzz lists. We’re earlier than normal this year while pilots have generally been late, with only a handful of them having cuts by now and the vast majority still in various stages of production. Therefore, everything on this list has to be taken with a gigantic grain of salt as a lot could change between a table read and a final cut.
If there is such thing as sure thing so early, the CW’s ARROW and THE CARRIE DIARIES would be it. They have pre-sold titles and are already making a lot of noise. Both were solid pre-production, received mostly favorable reaction to the fist images of the title characters released last month, and the strong buzz continues. Another pilot with a instantly recognizable title, BEAUTY & THE BEAST, also has been garnering buzz, while medical drama FIRST CUT has had people raving about Meryl Streep’s daughter Mamie Gummer who plays the lead. And then there is a pilot, whose chances improved over the last two weeks for reasons completely unrelated to the actual pilot — THE SELECTION. In picking it up, the network took a page from its own playbook several years ago, when, on the heels of the success of the first Twilight movie, the network ordered to pilot the similarly-themed Vampire Diaries. This year, the CW did the same with the Hunger Games-esque THE SELECTION in anticipation that the movie would be big. The film indeed has been an instant smash, boosting the chances of The Selection.
On March 24th, Katie and co-star Stephen Amell, were seen in Vancouver filming a part from the pilot of there new show Arrow. These are the first lot of Photos from the show here is hoping more come online soon. Photo credit susan gittins all rights to her.
